How to find the Royal Inn

From Callington

Take the A388 north towards Launceston. Approximately 2 miles from Callington take the right turn signposted Stoke Climsland. Follow the road to Stoke Climsland. Approximately half a mile beyond the village take the right turn signposted Horsebridge. Follow the road for 3 miles to Horsebridge. The Royal Inn is on the Devon side of the river Tamar.

From Gunnislake

Take the A390 towards Tavistock. The road crosses the Tamar, and then climbs a long hill in a succession of bends. At the top of the hill, approximately 1 mile out of Gunnislake, there is a crossroads. Take the left turn signposted Chip Shop at the crossroads. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile to the crossroads at Chip Shop. Turn left at the crossroads. Follow a winding lane for approximately 2 miles to Horsebridge. The Royal Inn is to the right, just before the river Tamar.

From Launceston

Take the A388 towards Callington. Approximately 2 miles out of Launceston take the left fork to Tavistock (B3362). Follow the road through Milton Abbot. Approximately one mile after Milton Abbot take the right turn signposted Sydenham Damerel at the crossroads. Follow the road through Sydenham Damerel village and continue on for another half mile. At the T junction turn right and follow the lane to Horsebridge. The Royal Inn is on the left at the bottom of the hill.

From Plymouth

Take the A386 to Tavistock. At Drake Statue in Tavistock continue ahead for 50 yards and turn right at the mini-roundabout. After 100 yards take a sharp left turn to Launceston on the B3362. Directions then as for Tavistock.

From Tavistock

Take the B3362 towards Launceston. After approximately 5 miles there is a crossroads. At the crossroads take the left turn signposted Sydenham Damerel. Follow the lane through Sydenham Damerel village and continue for a further half mile to the T junction. Turn right down the hill. The Royal Inn is at the bottom of the hill on the left.
